Music-a-thon 2016
It’s official now. The popular and fun-filled day of practice and music and community building known as the Music-a-thon will be held on:
Saturday January 23
All day at TRHS
Mark it on your calendar. Look for our flyer in the next week. Start finding sponsors for your student(s). All High School and Junior High music students are invited.
Please contact Mary O’Coin for more information, to volunteer your time or talents or to make a donation for this fabulous event.
Junior High Winter Concerts
The Junior High Choral Winter Concert was held on Wednesday December 9th and was a great success. The students showed off the skills they’ve been working on this year under the direction of Mr. Eric von Bleicken. Our congratulations to all the singers on their fine performances.
The Junior High Instrumental Concert was held on Monday December 14th and was another chance for the community to enjoy the musical talents of our Junior High students. Mrs. Lucy Colwell led her bands through a range of selections designed to entertain and impress the audience, and to challenge the student. A hearty “Well done!” to all involved.
High School Winter Concert
This Thursday evening the High School Choral and Instrumental groups will entertain the community with a wide variety of holiday music. The evening will close with the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah. All Tantasqua alumni are invited to join the choir on stage in a Tantasqua tradition.
The TMA is looking for volunteers to help with a variety of tasks including handing out programs, selling raffle tickets before the concert and during intermission, and selling concessions during the intermission. Seats will be reserved for volunteers, and everyone will be seated in plenty of time for the concert.
We also need donations of all varieties of baked treats (cookies, brownies, bar type cookies, cake) and drinks (soda, water) to be sold during intermission. Drop off at 6:00p with your performing student. Please do not cut brownies/bars as we will portion them appropriately. Note goods with allergy info (i.e. nuts). Click here for more info and to sign up.
